Sue Sadecki welcomed as new Executive Director

Sue R. Sadecki has been appointed as new executive director of Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers, the nonprofit’s Board of Directors announced. Agency staff welcomed Sadecki on her first day at work and held a blessing ceremony at its Wailuku shelter on Oct. 23. Sadecki, a seasoned healthcare executive, comes with a wealth of administrative management experience in nonprofit organizations in Arizona. She succeeds Monique R. The Emmy-winning morning news program featured a live, on-location telecast Thursday morning from KHAKO’s Wailuku shelter. The program highlighted the heroism of agency employees who helped 220 Lahaina shelter residents evacuate and escape fast-moving flames. Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers has confirmed the loss of its 78-unit Westside Center in Lahaina. KHAKO Executive Director Monique R. Ibarra said: “With a police escort, I saw firsthand the destruction of our Lahaina shelter on Wednesday night. All the buildings are gone. Wildfire reduced them to ashes and debris. This morning, I informed the residents who escaped Tuesday afternoon with little more than the clothes they were wearing. The Dr. Bobby Baker and Julie Baker Foundation delivered two laptop computers Thursday to keiki in Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers’ Children Services Program.
