Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers is Recipient of $25K Donation

Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers, Inc., a shelter for homeless individuals on Maui, received two substantial donations totaling $25,000 from Kāʻanapali Ocean Resort Charitable Trust to assist with their mission of breaking the cycle of homelessness on Maui. Maui’s Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers Receives Donation from Jeff Bezos

Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers sheltered 863 residents in two facilities, serving 46,876 meals and helping 294 individuals to become permanently housed.

Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers, Inc., a shelter for homeless individuals on Maui, extended appreciation and gratitude to Amazon Founder and Executive Chair Jeff Bezos for his recent personal donation. It’s the latest in a growing list of Maui nonprofits identified as recipients of “personal donations” from the e-commerce executive. Monetary donations of unspecified amounts were also gifted by Jeff Bezos to Habitat for Humanity Maui, the Mālama Family Recovery Center, the Hawaiʻi Land Trust, the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center and The Maui Farm. Office Closures due to Hurricane Olivia

Our shelter offices will be closed on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 due to Hurricane Olivia. Lahaina Fire Shelter Community Response

Maui has the honored title of No Ka Oi and this weekend proved it over and over!  Our community is the best and this article explains why.  When a crisis such as a fire or looming hurricane hit our island on Friday, August 24, 2018, our staff and guests took action to ensure all lives were saved and safe!  The whole Maui community came together to offer donations of food, water, clothing, and clean-up relief! Hale Makana O Waiale

Today there was an incident on the property where a fugitive, who was not a tenant, came to Hale Makana and holed up in a unit. The Maui Police department apprehended the fugitive within a short time period. We’d like to thank the Maui Police Department for keeping the tenants, guests, and staff at Hale Makana safe and for their professionalism and speed in which they secured the facility and removed the fugitive out of the unit and off of the property.
